Singer Cho Yong-pil ranked first in a television music program for the first time in 23 years.

“Hello,” Cho’s new single released on the singer’s 19th album, beat Roy Kim’s “Bom Bom Bom” on this week’s edition of the KBS show Music Bank.

In a video message, Cho said he could not believe the result given the bevy of talented musicians he competed against, and he gave his sincere thanks for the honor.

This was the first time that Cho ranked first on a television music program since 1990 in a program hosted by MBC.
