North Korea is apparently implementing on a trial basis parts of economic reform measures ordered by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

High-ranking North Korean officials recently told an interview with a Japan-based pro-North Korean newspaper that national consultations and discussions are under way to enforce reform measures directed by Kim.

In the interview with the Choson Sinbo, the North Korean officials said that great ideas proposed in the consultation will be implemented nationwide if they are proved to be effective in a test trial.

The officials also said production plans and currency circulation should go together, hinting that comprehensive economic reform measures will be carried out.
