North Korean state media says North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected Unit 405 of the Korean People’s Army on Monday and offered encouraging words to soldiers.

The Korean Central News Agency reported Kim was accompanied by Minister of People’s Armed Forces Jang Jong-nam among others during the inspection.

Kim last inspected a Korean People’s Army unit at the end of March. At that time, tensions were running high on the Korean Peninsula due to combined South Korea-U.S. military drills and the North’s continued threats of war.

However, during Monday’s inspection, Kim did not make any belligerent remarks aimed at South Korea and the U.S.
