S. Korea Urges N. Korea to Accept Dialogue Proposal on Gaeseong

The South Korean government continues to urge North Korea to accept its proposal for working-level talks on the return of South Korean production materials from the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Hyung-seok called on Pyongyang Tuesday to accept Seoul’s proposal for dialogue as soon as possible. He said the two Koreas can build trust and get ready to move on to the next stage by discussing the return of South Korean companies’ raw materials and finished goods at the industrial park in North Korea.

Kim noted that Pyongyang has sent fax messages to several companies that have factories in the inter-Korean factory park. He said North Korea is wrong to think it could achieve something by sending out the faxes to put the companies at odds with the South Korean government.

He asked North Korea to explain what it really wants.
