'N. Korea Presumed to Have Used New Multiple Rocket Launchers'

A military official in South Korea says short-range projectiles recently launched by North Korea are presumed to be rockets from new 300-millimeter caliber multiple rocket launchers.

The official said on Thursday that the transporter-erector-launchers (TEL) for the multiple rocket launchers were identified as having four launch tubes.

The official continued that one of the six rockets fired by the North is estimated to have been five meters long and four of them flew 150 kilometers. It's estimated the other two flew about 130 kilometers.

The official also noted it appears that the North has withdrawn the mobile launchers from Wonsan, Gangwon Province.
