Park to Boost Collaboration with Beijing on N. Korea

President Park Geun-hye says that she will strengthen cooperation with China to resolve North Korea issues.

During a meeting senior secretaries Monday, President Park commented on the upcoming Seoul-Beijing summit slated for late June, saying her aim is to make North Korea become a responsible member of the international community and make changes.

The president also stressed that her administration has remained consistent regarding provocations by the North and that her recent trip to the U.S. was also focused on seeking cooperation from the U.S. and the international community.

Park also asked the senior secretaries to ease business regulations as soon as possible to boost investments. She said it would be the key to reviving the economy.

She also cautioned, however, against the possibility of South Korean companies being discriminated against their foreign competitors due to the government's deregulation measures for them.
