Irish Charity to Help N. Korea Increase Food Production

Radio Free Asia reports an Irish non-governmental organization will help North Korea increase its food production and provide cleaner drinking water to its people.

The U.S.-based broadcaster said that the Irish charity, “Concern Worldwide,” will build various facilities to increase food production and improve nutrition in North Korea.

The humanitarian organization will build a fish hatchery and factories to produce goat and soy milk in North Hwanghae Province. A food processing plant and an irrigation facility will be built in the provinces of Gangwon and South Hwanghae.

The Irish aid group will also teach eco-friendly farming techniques to North Korean farmers and officials at farms it will build in Gangwon Province and Pyongyang.
