An annual taekwondo festival drew some 450 practitioners of the South Korean martial art to downtown New York on Friday despite the rain.

The U.S. Taekwondo Education Federation hosted the Global Children Taekwondo Festival in Manhattan's famed Times Square. It said on it's Web site that the event attracts anyone who wants to celebrate the sport and all are welcome to demonstrate their abilities at the festival.

This year, taekwondo teams at local public schools and individuals showed off their skills.

The event is held on the first Friday of every June.
