Parties Regretful of Scrapped Inter-Korean Gov't-level Talks

Ruling and opposition parties have expressed regret over the cancellation of the inter-Korean government-level talks.

Ruling Saenuri Party spokeswoman Min Hyun-joo told reporters at the National Assembly on Wednesday that the planned South-North talks collapsed due to the North’s insincere attitude. She added it is questionable whether the North has the willingness and sincerity to engage in dialogue with the South.

Main opposition Democratic Party spokesman Kim Kwang-young said in a news briefing that the two Koreas must seize opportunities to hold inter-Korean dialogue. Kim said his party hopes both South and North Korea make wise decisions and concessions so the talks can be held.
