Striker Son Heung-min to Join Germany's Bayer Leverkusen

German soccer club Bayer Leverkusen says it has signed South Korean striker Son Heung-min on a five-year deal.

The soccer club made the announcement on its Web site Thursday, explaining Son’s contract ends on June 30, 2018.

German media estimate that Bayer Leverkusen paid around ten million euros, or some 15 billion won, for Son’s transfer from Hamburg. Son’s annual salary is estimated around three million euros, or roughly four-and-a-half billion won.

German daily Bild reports Bayer Leverkusen has never paid that much before for the transfer of a player.
