N. Korea Calls for Change in S. Korea's 'Confrontational' Policy

North Korea has called on Seoul to change what it calls South Korea’s “policy of confrontation” toward the North.

The Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the North's ruling Workers' Party, claimed on Saturday that President Park Geun-hye’s North Korea policy is no different from that of the Lee Myung-bak administration.

The daily said there will never be improvement in dialogue and relations between South and North Korea unless there is a fundamental change in the “policy of confrontation of the South’s ruling forces.”

The comments came as North Korea marked the anniversary of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration. The summit agreement was realized at the end of the two Korea’s first-ever summit in 2000. In it, both sides pledged to work towards greater cooperation and exchanges.
