Truce Village Hotline Operating Normally

The Unification Ministry says South and North Korea have reopened their Red Cross hotline in the truce village of Panmunjeom.

A ministry official said the North answered the call placed on the Red Cross phone line at 9 a.m. Thursday.

This came a day after Pyongyang used the same hotline to notify Seoul of its entry approval for South Korean business representatives into the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

While conveying the notification, Pyongyang also agreed to normalize operations of the South-North communication channel at the truce village.
