N. Korea Says Koreas Should Join Forces for Peace

North Korea says the two Koreas should join forces to eliminate distrust and confrontation and move on to the path of peace and reunification.

On the eve of inter-Korean governmental talks on Friday, the Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the North's ruling Workers' Party, said that South and North Korea should join hands with each other, not with foreign forces, in order to open a bright future for the Korean people.

The paper also denounced the South’s critical views of the North’s policy of pursuing economic development and nuclear power simultaneously, saying that the two Koreas cannot avoid confrontation if they deny each other's ideologies and systems.
