Inter-Korean Talks at Panmunjeom Starts After Delay

Inter-Korean governmental talks on the Gaeseong Industrial Complex issues began in the truce village of Panmunjeom at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

A Unification Ministry official said the talks began about an hour and 45 minutes behind schedule due to a problem with the communication line at the meeting venue on the North Korean side of Panmunjeom.

Earlier Saturday, head of the South Korean delegation Suh Ho said before his departure for Panmunjeom that the delegation is well aware of the people's high hopes for the talks and will make its best efforts to build greater trust.

He added that the agenda for the talks includes transfer of materials out of the Gaeseong park, inspection of facilities and equipment, and constructive development of the industrial park.
