The Seoul government says it sent back home three North Koreans who were rescued off the east coast. 

A South Korean civilian vessel rescued three North Korean fishermen on Wednesday after their boat capsized.

Officials say the fishermen were handed over to the North at 6:30 p.m. Friday because they expressed their wishes to return home.
