Annual overseas Koreans forum to open in Berlin

Organizers of the event said in Los Angeles Wednesday that the 4th annual Overseas Koreans Forum will open in Berlin April 8th thru 11th. The California-based Korea Global Foundation (KGF) said the forum will begin with opening speeches from East Germany's last premier, Lothar de Maiziere, and Charles Kartman, executive director of the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization. Under the theme of cooperation between Korea and the European Union (EU) in the 21st century, the forum will draw some 100 academics, journalists and experts from around the world including historian Kang Man-gil, dean of Sangji University, Founded in January 1999 in New York, the KGF is a private organization that supports Korean unification and national development as well as building a network for overseas Koreans and has its current headquarters in Los Angeles.
