Two Koreas Fail to Find Breakthrough in Gaeseong Talks

South and North Korea have again failed to find ways to resume the operation of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

Seoul’s chief delegate to the talks Kim Ki-woong told reporters about the unsuccessful discussion at the fourth round of talks in Gaeseong Wednesday. Kim said that the North did not change its stance even though the South insisted a system to prevent future shutdowns should be the fundamental part of the agreement.

Pyongyang is said to have repeated its call for the prompt resumption of the industrial park’s operation with no strings attached.

The two Koreas will hold another meeting in Gaeseong on Monday.
