South Korea finished fourth overall at the 27th Summer Universiade that closed Wednesday.

The Koreans captured 17 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals at the games in Kazan, Russia. 

More than 13-thousand university athletes from around 160 countries took part in the closing ceremony at the Kazan Arena Stadium.

Russia came out on top with 155 gold, 75 silver and 62 bronze medals. China was second and Japan third.
 
South Korea will host the next summer universiade in Gwangju in 2015.
