S. Korea Opens Web Site on Mineral Resources in N. Korea

South Korea has launched its first informational Web site about mineral resources buried in North Korea.

The South-North Korea Exchanges and Cooperation Support Association said that the site went up on Thursday.

The Web site offers information on 36 kinds of minerals and 696 mines across North Korea and the regime’s export and import of mineral products.

The North is one of the world’s top ten reservoirs of eight minerals, including magnesite, zinc and tungsten. North Korea’s mineral shipments accounted for more than half of its total exports last year.
