North Criticizes South for Trying to Delay OPCON Transfer

North Korea has criticized South Korea for requesting the U.S. to consider delaying the planned transfer of wartime operational control (OPCON) in 2015.

The North's propaganda outlet Radio Pyongyang said on Friday that the South's aim to slow down the U.S.' hand-over of its wartime command of the allied forces is a crime against the Korean people.

The broadcaster claimed that by delaying the transfer of the command control, the South is trying to beef up its military cooperation with the U.S. and invade the North.

The North added that the move by the South will only further aggravate the current tension on the Korean Peninsula.
