KCC Chief to Visit US to Discuss New Communications Policies

The head of South Korea’s communications watchdog will visit the U.S. on Wednesday to seek out new communications policies.

Korea Communications Commission Chairman Lee Kyung-jae will travel to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission and Global Media Group during his seven-day trip. He will discuss promoting cooperation between South Korean and U.S. communications industries.

Lee will also look for a solution to the issue of adjusting transmission fees between terrestrial broadcasters and cable TV operators.

The chairman will also look into the introduction of next-generation broadcasting, including Ultra High Definition Television, and exchange views with related policy coordinators.
