Rival parties have welcomed the government's decision to make North Korea another offer for talks on reopening the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
Ruling and opposition parties also expressed their support on Sunday for the government's decision to allow civic level humanitarian aid to the North.
Saenuri spokeswoman Min Hyun-joo urged North Korea to prevent future shutdowns of the complex and commended the government for its efforts to continue talks.
The spokeswoman said the ruling party backs Seoul's plan to allow civic aid provision to the North and its plans to support UNICEF aid to North Korean infants.
She also said the government should be prepared for talks with the North at any time if there's a possibility of normalizing the operations at the Gaeseong complex.
Main opposition Democratic Party spokesman Park Yong-jin said that his party expects the government's decision will help resolve the suspended inter-Korean venture.
Park did note concerns that the government called its latest invitation for talks final. He also said the government could be restricting its future moves by using words such as "significant decision" during the announcement.
The two Koreas have met six times this month to discuss resuming the joint factory zone but they haven't been able to reach a deal.
