Unification Minister Criticizes N. Korea's Attitude at Gaeseong Talks

Seoul’s unification minister has criticized North Korea’s attitude at the recent series of unsuccessful talks on reopening the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae told representatives from firms in Gaeseong on Sunday that North Korea has been aloof to Seoul’s calls for measures to prevent the complex from closing again.

He said the South Korean firms wouldn't be able to conduct business in an environment where they are abruptly kicked out and prevented from returning.

Ryoo said the North strongly hinted toward the end of talks that the factory park could be shut down again for political or military reasons. He said this approach is unacceptable to the South Korean government.
