N. Korea Criticizes S. Korea for OPCON Talks with US

North Korea is blasting South Korea for holding discussions with the U.S. on rescheduling the transfer of wartime operational control.

The official newspaper of North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party, the Rodong Sinmun, said in an editorial Wednesday Seoul is using the North's nuclear threat as an excuse to postpone the transition.

The newspaper also said South Korea’s major goal in pursuing a delay is to win the U.S.’ favor and further strengthen international pressure on the North to realize its ambition of invading North Korea.

It repeated its claim that South Korea and the U.S. are to blame for raising the risk of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.
