Government to Implement Second-Stage Energy Conservation Measures This Week

The Seoul government plans to implement second-stage measures to conserve oil as the Dubai crude price exceeded 29 U.S. dollars per barrel at the end of last month. The measures include cutting taxes imposed on imported oil and restrictions on the use of neon signs and outside lighting of department stores. Business hours of midnight movie theaters and usage of elevators will be restricted as well.
