S. Korea to Provide Aid to N. Korea Using State Funds

The Unification Ministry says it will give aid to North Korea using the Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund for relief programs organized by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

It is the first time for South Korea to spend state funds for international organizations’ relief programs for North Korea since the launch of the Park Geun-hye government.

Seoul will spend about six million U.S. dollars or six-point-seven billion won for the relief program, which will provide medicine, vaccines and food for North Korean children and pregnant women.
