The deliberation on insurance claims submitted by South Korean firms with facilities at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex will likely be completed on Wednesday.
 
A government official said that the deliberation process is nearing the end and the decision on payment will soon be made.

The payment of insurance money will mark the government's first "grave decision" as it signals the withdrawal of companies from the inter-Korean joint venture. 

The 109 South Korean companies have requested a total of 270 billion won in insurance money.
