N. Korea's Rodong Shinmun Stresses Improving Inter-Korean Ties

Ahead of the seventh round of inter-Korean talks on reopening the suspended Gaeseong Industrial Complex on Wednesday, North Korea is emphasizing the need to improve strained bilateral relations.

The North's state-run Rodong Sinmun on Saturday carried a contribution by an individual who called for a fundamental change in inter-Korean ties for peace and cooperation.

The article specifically called for the implementation of the June 15th inter-Korean Joint Declaration and the October 4th inter-Korean summit declaration which were produced at the bilateral summits in 2000 and 2007.

The organ of the North's ruling Workers' Party also carried a similar article, titled "June 15th Declarationon is the Key to Inter-Korean Issues," in its Friday edition.
