KBS World Radio Celebrates its 60th Anniversary

KBS World Radio held a special K-Pop concert and various online events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the commencement of its broadcast. 

KBS World Radio broadcast the special program, K-Pop Meets the World, on Thursday. The K-Pop concert was recorded at KBS Radio Hall on July 29th with hundreds of its listeners invited from around the world. 

In celebration, KBS World Radio also broadcast a special documentary on its 60-year history on Thursday. 

In addition, KBS World Radio launched a special website, featuring a timeline with old photos and historical records, where listeners can learn more about the history of the station. Also, KBS World Radio held a special online event, KBS World Radio and I. Listeners around the world had submitted their photos depicting their memories with KBS World Radio, and the best 60 images were selected to be displayed on the special website. 

Since its founding on August 15th, 1953, KBS World Radio has been the nation's only international public radio station. It now broadcasts in 11 different languages for 62 hours a day.
