N.Korea Calls for Shift in Confrontational Inter-Korean Relations

North Korea has called for a shift in confrontational inter-Korean relations to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

The Rodong Sinmun newspaper, an mouthpiece of the North's ruling Workers' Party of Korea, said on Friday that the recent inter-Korean agreement on the Gaeseong Industrial Complex is just the beginning of improving strained cross-border relations.

It called for fundamental changes in the current sour inter-Korean relations to ease tensions and open a path of reconciliation and cooperation.

The paper added that reconciliation and solidarity between the two Koreas will be boosted and their reunification will come closer if systems and laws blocking inter-Korean cooperation and exchanges are removed in accordance with the June 15th inter-Korean Joint Declaration and the October 4th inter-Korean summit declaration.
