Koreas Hold Talks Friday on Family Reunions

South and North Korea’s Red Cross officials has met for working-level talks on Friday to discuss details for reunions of separated families set to take place next month.
 
The two sides are represented by three officials respectively at the talks that opened at the South’s side of the truce village of Panmunjeom at ten a.m. Friday.

A government official said while the talks will center mainly on organizing the family reunions for around the Chuseok holidays, the South will also address various humanitarian issues with an open attitude.
 
Meanwhile, on the North’s offer to hold talks at the end of this month or early next month on resuming South Korean tours to Mount Geumgang, the government conveyed to the North on Thursday that it will deliver a response after internal deliberation.
