President-elect Roh Moo-hyun says he will actively support the bidding for the 2010 Winter Olympics by Pyeongchang in Gangwon Province. Roh made the remarks Tuesday in Chuncheon, the capital of Gangwon Province where he is visiting as part of his provincial tour to promote regional development. Roh said he will explain the advantages of the city as the host of the winter games when the evaluation commission of the International Olympic Committee comes to Seoul next Friday. The President-elect filmed a video message asking for active support which will be sent to Gerhard Heiberg, Chairman of the IOC evaluation commission.
