Gov't Sends Inspectors to Family Reunion Facilities in N. Korea

South Korea has sent 55 inspectors to North Korea Wednesday to examine facilities for the reunion of separated families scheduled for late September at Mount Geumgang.

The government says North Korea approved the inspectors to visit on Wednesday and Thursday. They are the first South Koreans to visit the mountain resort since November 2010, aside from Hyundai Asan employees. Hyundai Asan was the South Korean tour operator to the resort before tours were suspended.

The inspectors, including South Korean Red Cross officials, will not lodge at the mountain resort but instead commute to the facilities.
