Koreas Exchange Preliminary Lists of Family Reunion Participants

South and North Korea have exchanged lists of people whose whereabouts must be confirmed ahead of a reunion of separated families around the Chuseok holidays next month.

South Korea's Red Cross gave North Korea a list on Thursday of 250 South Koreans hoping to reunite with their long-lost kin in the North. North Korea's Red Cross also presented a list of 200 candidates for the September reunions.

The South's Red Cross selected 500 candidates for the family reunions via a computer raffle last Saturday and narrowed down the list to around 250.

The two Koreas plan to exchange lists of people they've located on September 13th before submitting final lists on the 16th.
