Added Value of Copyright Industry Exceeds W121 Tln

The added value of the copyright industry has topped 121 trillion won.
 
The Korea Copyright Commission announced statistics showing the added value of the industry totaled 121-trillion-800-billion won in 2011, accounting for nine-point-eight percent of South Korea’s gross domestic production.
   
The industry hired more than one-point-five million people, or six-point-three percent of the total number of the nation’s employees.
    
Last year, 45-thousand people infringed on copyrights. The number of copyright violators has increased by eight-thousand on average each year since 2010 with the spread of smartphones and IT gadgets.
