S. Korea, Asian Countries Agree to Enhance Cultural Cooperation

South Korea and East Asian nations have agreed to enhance cultural exchanges and cooperation in a meeting of their cultural ministers.

The ministers on Friday announced their agreement at the first Korea-Southeast Asian Culture Ministers Meeting at the Gwangju Museum of Art. 

The culture ministers also pledged efforts to introduce rich cultural assets and artwork of their countries through the Asian Culture Complex, which will be built in Gwangju.

Adopting minutes of the meeting, the ministers agreed each country will make efforts to share experiences of preserving and utilizing rich cultural assets.

The meeting was attended by culture ministers of South Korea, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

After the meeting, the ministers visited Gwanju Design Biennale 2013, which opened on Thursday.
