Koreas Open 2nd Meeting on Restarting Gaeseong Park

South and North Korea’s joint management committee on the Gaeseong Industrial Complex has begun a second round of talks on Tuesday.

The two Koreas are likely to reach a decision on when to restart operations of the industrial park, following the reconnection of the inter-Korean military hotline along the west coast on Saturday. Seoul stated as a precondition the hotline must be restored to normalize operations at the joint venture.

From as early as Tuesday, a South Korean inspection team and management team will likely be allowed to stay in the factory park.

It has been 130 days since North Korea shut down the industrial complex on May third.
