'Two Koreas to Work on Measures to Globalize Gaeseong Complex'

South Korea's chief of the joint committee on Gaeseong Industrial Complex management says the latest round of talks with North Korea has paved the way to internationalize the complex.

After returning home Wednesday from the meeting in the North, Seoul's chief Kim Ki-woong said it's meaningful to see progress in efforts to improve various regulations to make the complex globally competitive.

Kim also said Pyongyang's attitude at the talks toward improving complex regulations was more active and forward-looking than before.

He expressed hope to attract more foreign investment, predicting foreign firms will likely consider investment if the two Koreas continue to improve investment stability through institutional measures.

Kim added that as the joint committee continues its third and fourth meetings, measures previously mentioned to sharpen the Gaeseong venture's globalization will be finalized and introduced.
