Gaeseong Industrial Complex Resumes Operations Monday

The two Koreas have reopened the inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex on Monday.

The Unification Ministry said the complex resumed operations as the two Koreas agreed last week to turn on production facilities for testing purposes.

The resumption comes about five months after the North unilaterally blocked the entry of South Koreans to the industrial park on April third.

A ministry official said from Monday North Korea will allow South Koreans to enter the complex 21 times a day, compared to just four times in the past.

Around 400 out of 820 South Koreans who have crossed the border on Monday morning will stay in Gaeseong while the rest will come home later on Monday. North Korean workers are also known to have punched in on time.
