S. Korean Weightlifter Wins 5 Golds at Competition in Pyongyang

South Korean weightlifter, Won Jeong-sik, grabbed five gold medals on Monday at the 2013 Asian Cup and Interclub Weightlifting Championship in Pyongyang.
 
In the men’s over-69 kilogram event, Won took gold in the snatch with a lift of 144 kilograms and in the clean and jerk with a lift of 180 kilograms. He also won overall gold for a combined score of 324 kilograms.
 
The silver medal in the 69 kilogram event went to North Korea’s Kwon Chang-il who lifted a combined 307 kilograms. North Korean Yoo Young-chan won bronze with a combined 302 kilograms.
 
Won added two more gold medals in an interclub weightlifting event.
 
South Korea’s national flag Taegeukgi was likely raised and the South’s national anthem likely played at the over-69 kilogram event.
