A permanent secretariat for the joint committee to manage the Inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex will start operations next Monday.
 
The joint committee held talks at the complex Tuesday and agreed to the start date.
 
A Unification Ministry official in Seoul said the secretariat will be comprised of ten members from each side, adding Seoul will send public officials as staff.
 
The secretariat will deal with inter-Korean communications, access, investment protection and globalization of the complex.
 
The official said the existing industrial complex management committee will continue to handle tasks of business support such as wages and employment.
