Korean Day Events to Open Saturday

The government will hold various events on Saturday to mark the seventh Korean Day.

The Foreign Ministry will hold a ceremony in southern Seoul to mark the occasion, which is organized by the Overseas Koreans Foundation.

About one thousand people will attend the ceremony including Prime Minister Chung Hong-won and ruling and opposition party lawmakers.

The ministry will award prizes and medals to 97 overseas Koreans to mark Korean Day. Ten of them will be invited and awarded medals at the ceremony.

A cultural event called “Korean Festival” will open at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul on Saturday afternoon.
