N. Korea Condemns Pres. Park by Name

North Korea criticized South Korean President Park Geun-hye by name on Friday and vowed to continue its simultaneous pursuit of economic advancement and nuclear arms development.

A spokesman for the policy bureau of the North's National Defense Commission said Friday that South Korea would be digging its own grave if it joins forces with foreign powers to try and denuclearize the North.

The spokesman lashed out at President Park Geun-hye, saying if she's a political leader, she should have a proper sense of perspective and watch what she says. The North warned she was embarking on the path of a dictator.

The spokesman’s comments came after Park urged Pyongyang to give up its nuclear ambitions in her Armed Forces Day speech on Tuesday.

The latest verbal attack is considered a notch up in terms of intensity, as North Korea has not referred to President Park by name for some time.
