The Formula One Korean Grand Prix will be held in April next year, around half a year earlier than previous races.

South Jeolla Governor Park Joon-young said at a news conference Monday that a lot of difficulties are expected for preparations and marketing, but it could be desirable to hold the annual race in April as decided by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

Park also said he would discuss the matter more with Formula One Management (FOM), citing some issues on costs and profits.

The FIA recently released a draft calendar for the 2014 Formula One season, which set the Korean Grand Prix for April 25th to the 27th.
