The Gyeongju International Marathon will be held on Sunday in Gyeongju, South Gyeongsang Province.

About ten thousand amateur runners and 82 elite runners will flood the roads in the southeastern South Korean city.

The course starts at Gyoengju Public Stadium and passes by the city’s major tourist attractions such as Cheomseongdae Observatory and Bunhwang Temple.

The opening ceremony was held on Friday at Geyongju East Palace Garden.

The city government plans to mobilize about two thousand volunteers and medical staff for the marathon.
