Vice Unification Minister Kim Nam-sik will visit the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea on Wednesday with the members of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee.
 
The Unification Ministry spokesman said at a regular news briefing Monday that the vice minister will accompany the lawmakers on their visit to the inter-Korean joint venture for an on-site inspection. 
 
The spokesman said the lawmakers and the vice minister will visit key facilities and offices of the firms operating in the factory park but a meeting with North Korean officials is not on the schedule. 
 
Kim's visit will mark the first time for a high-ranking official at the vice minister level from the Park Geun-hye government to cross the inter-Korean border.
