The Cultural Heritage Administration has agreed to work with Greece, China and Turkey for the return of cultural assets taken overseas.

The administration said a memorandum of understanding was signed on Saturday by the four countries in Olympia, Greece on the sidelines of a conference for experts to discuss the return of stolen cultural assets.

The annual conference was founded in 2011 by South Korea as a means to seek alternative solutions for the return of looted artifacts from the perspective of countries with similar experiences of having their cultural assets taken abroad.

The forums was founded on the shared view that the existing talks on the matter led by government delegates are ineffective and serve to justify the retention of the stolen goods by the former pillagers.
