'Snowpiercer' to Show in 300 Theaters in France

South Korean movie “Snowpiercer” will be released in France on Wednesday.

Distributor CJ E&M said Tuesday that Director Bong Joon-ho's latest blockbuster will be simultaneously released in about 300 theaters across France – the largest ever release for a South Korean film in that country.

Bong’s previous blockbuster “The Host” was released in 223 theaters in France in 2006.

The distributor also said the release of Bong’s sci-fi thriller is as large as Hollywood blockbusters "Gravity" and "Riddick," which will be playing in about 400 theaters.

Starting from France, the South Korean move is scheduled to open in Hong Kong in November and Japan in February next year.
