A local tour company is helping passengers flying through Incheon International Airport discover that a layover can be more than just killing time in the terminal.
Hana Tour said on Friday that thousands of foreign tourists have been using its quick layover tour program since it was overhauled in July.
Hana said six options are now offered, including the Seoul City tour with stops at the Cheonggye Stream, Gyeongbok Palace and Hongik University area. The Incheon Temple course tours Hongnyun Temple and the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum.
The tour operator said around three-thousand layover passengers signed up in July, 37-hundred in August, 34-hundred in September, and 35-hundred in October.
A Hana Tour official says six-hour layovers are frequent for long-distance flights, and the tour program is especially popular among Americans.
Americans made up the largest percentage of tourists at 30 percent, followed by the Japanese, Chinese and Canadians.
