Gov't Enforces Second-Stage Energy-saving Measures

Amid high international oil prices because of concerns about a U.S.-Iraqi war, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy on Tuesday implemented some of its second-stage countermeasures, including a ban on the use of electric heating systems and the 10th-day no-driving system in both government and public agencies. The ministry said surcharges on imported oil will be lowered from 14 won per liter to 8 won.
